Laptop Program

St Paul’s College laptop program enables us to deliver the curriculum to our students using new and emerging technologies. We aim to nurture and accommodate the skills and practices significant for 21st Century learners.

We partner with Learning with Technologies and provide a purchase portal for parents to buy devices at education prices that meet student and curriculum requirements.

The devices have been specifically selected to allow students to interact with content in creative ways. Student devices come standard with touch screens and stylus pens to provide more natural interactions with classroom content. Batteries to last a whole day and durability certification for drop resistance and spill resistance. We see these device features as essential for participating in our curricular content and meeting the rigorous needs of a student.

Under the program, all students are required to bring their device for use in all classes. If a student is temporarily unable to bring their device, there is a limited supply of loan devices available at the Student Hub.

Additional details about the program can be found in this: questions answered document.

Taking Delivery

All devices will be delivered directly to the purchaser. Delivery dates will depend on when you have purchased your laptop.

Devices should be unboxed and setup with a personal Microsoft account prior to making an appointment to get it setup for school use.

Laptop setup appointments can be booked here. [Bookings for January will be open from December]

Education Warranty

All devices are covered by a full comprehensive 3-year education warranty. This warranty is only available to students who purchase a device through SPC's LWT ordering poral. This warranty includes unlimited and free repairs to all faults, accidental damage to screens and liquid spills.

All repairs are undertaken onsite making for a fast turnaround to get the device back into student hands as quickly as possible.

Lenovo Education Warranty covers impact damage and liquid spills but if Lenovo deem the unit uneconomical to repair, the unit will be replaced only once. The replacement unit will have the same warranty end date as the original unit but will no longer be covered for impact or liquid damage. You can choose to purchase a new education warranty for the replacement device. Impact damage does not cover accessories such as charger/stylus

Non-accidental damage is not covered by warranty or insurance and repair cost is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Repairs

We encourage all students to first bring their device to the IT Helpdesk in the Student Hub for all notebook related device and software issues. Our staff are highly skilled and can resolve all software related issues, provide advice and training on software packages and log all warranty repair claims on your behalf.

Existing Device

We understand some students may already have a device if coming from another school. In these circumstances we recommend the device is replaced when the warranty ends on the device. St Paul’s cannot provide any hardware support for these devices however we can provide guidance to get them working at St Paul’s. The device must be a Windows device to work at St Paul’s College.
